Takahide Higuchi is a Japanese electronic producer, disc jockey and painter who works under the pseudonym Foodman. He has been releasing music since 2011 and is based in Yokohama. His work first gained traction in the early 2010s when he was recognised as a leading name in Japan's footwork and juke scene; the producer has continued to see his work as rooted in footwork. According to Resident Advisor, the musician's work blends different electronic genres, including juke and footwork but also ambienttechnohouse and noise music, yet dissecting these styles and morphing them together "then driven to extreme without giving you a second to come up with a definitive genre." The Vinyl Factory consider him to be an experimental musician.

The musician has released albums on Orange Milk with artwork designed by owner Giant Claw. Foodman's 2016 album Ez Minzoku features off-kilter footwork rhythms and electronic horns, woodwinds and flutes. It was named one of "The 20 Best Experimental Albums of 2016" by Pitchfork. The 2017 single "Nanika" was hailed by Pitchfork for its erratic yet dance-based structure. That same year, the producer recorded a DJ mix for i-D. In November 2018, he released Moriyama, his first album for the Palto Flats label.

2019 saw the release of 'ODOODO' via Diplo's Mad Decent sub label, a "juke/footwork, minimal electronics, and curious sound collages,食品まつり a.k.a foodman returns with ‘ODOODO’, a 7-track EP that fuses his version of rhythmic ambient, trap, slow-tempo house and dub with with ideas that came to him in his everyday life—while walking, having a bath at sento, eating lunch, and so on."

His ever-evolving and mutating musical vocabulary draws from every kind of music he stumbles across, from Chicago footwork to Okinawan folk music of his roots, ambient to J-pop, Talvin Singh's Indian classical music/drum 'n' bass fusion to classic video game soundtracks, then twists them all with his playful psychedelia. This extends to his remixes and DJ mixes, including his monthly residency at NTS radio and i-D magazine's "i-DJ" guest mix, which was picked up on Pitchfork's "10 Best DJ Mixes of March 2017" list.
Since playing his first show outside of Japan in mid 2016, he has appeared on Boiler Room, Low End Theory, and Unsound just to name a few, as well as headline shows across the US and Europe.

Takahide loves saunas and has a regular NTS radio show.

Previous European dates: Macao, Rewire, Favela Discos, Cafe OTO, Unsound, Rokolektiv Festival, TAPE Aarhus,
