Chancha via Circuito led by Pedro Canale, has spearheaded a musical explosion of cumbia worldwide. "Latin America’s most famous electronic music producer, composer, and DJ. Considered a pioneering figure in Argentina’s electronic music scene, Chancha has multiple albums out (Pitchfork is onto him) and is pretty much constantly on tour. He’s big."

The Culture trip.

Canale's music characteristically blends folk influences of his home regions, surrounded by the Andes, and electronic beats. Rio Arriba (2010), was described as "aural magical realism" in Resident Advisor and "Quite possibly the most beautiful thing you will hear all day" by Thump and 7.9 in Pitchfork. Amansara (2014), was acclaimed internationally with praises from Pitchfork and the New York Times.

Chancha satisfies a broad audiences, from mainstream to electronic avant-garde aficionados.

2018's Bienaventuranza is possibly the most accomplished Chancha LP to date, opening the soundstage up to showcase increased organic and human content. As dancefloor-friendly as it is mystical, Bienaventuranza is as Chancha as it gets - Cumbia blends with slow Dancehall to Andean Folk and winks to Global house, the crystal clear production holds true to the sound that Canale has played such a huge part in creating.

Since the release of Amansara the digital folk scene has grown exponentially internationally, earning Chancha via Circuito great profiles, regular sell-out headlines, killer festival shows and hundreds of thousands of plays on Spotify. From a new generation of producers to more listeners in unassuming parts of the globe, Pedro has been humbled to see the sound develop - and proves with this album that he’s grown along with it.

From the Crammed Discs website:

"Chancha via Circuito is what the people from the province of Buenos Aires call the train that
connects the capital to the southern part of the city. A «Chancha» (pig in Spanish) is the name they gave to the old Fiat locomotive, which was as big as a pig. And «Via Circuito» is the name of the railway line. I made this trip every day for years, when I studied electroacoustic music in the suburb of Bernal. The atmosphere of the train inspired me a lot, with its vendors and cumbia music playing at full volume in the cars."

Chancha via Circuito perform at European festivals such as MUTEK, Roskilde, Oslo World, Nuits Sonores and across the USA, Japan and Australia regularly.

In 2013, Chancha via Circuto's 'Quimey Neuquén' was featured on the Breaking Bad soundtrack. Canale is joined by his wife Heidi on record, and on stage.

Upcoming dates include with Shabazz Palaces and Clark in New Hampshire USA, Brazil, Belgium, Italy and Palestine.

European festivals/dates scheduled for May, June 2019.
